High Rise Hotel

Event Center

 

Merit provided all electrical construction work for the Turning Stone Casino Resort Tower Hotel, Event Center and Wintergarden project.  The project included the 21 story, 200,000 square foot hotel with 287 guest rooms, fitness center, pool, spa facility and VIP top floor bar and restaurant, 5000 seat multi-purpose Event Center and 60,000 square foot main entrance atrium with casino gaming space.

Other projects were completed by Merit under separate contracts include the parking garage, championship golf courses, co-generation plant and the original casino.

Syracuse University: School of Management, Architecture and Life Science:

 
School of Management

160,000 square foot building with 200 seat auditorium, 22 state-of-the-art classrooms, 40 meeting rooms, student lounges, café, Executive education center, grand hall and investment Institute.  Merit installed all Electrical, Specialty Lighting, Life Safety, and Audio/Video Systems.

 
School of Architecture

The former Dunk & Bright Furniture warehouse, shown here after Syracuse University’s renovation, will permanently house the Communications Design and Advertising Design programs for the College of Visual and Performing Arts and temporarily house the School of Architecture. 

The project was a complete renovation of the 8 story building, totaling 145,000 square feet.  Opened for classes in January, 2006,  it is the first off-campus facility for Syracuse University.

Merit is performing all electrical and communications work on this 5-story, 230,000 square foot OSHA Partnership project.

 

Colgate University - Multiple Site Utility Projects, Case Library. Campus-wide Wireless Network,

Student Housing

 
Case Library and Center For Information Technology

Merit performed all electrical, life-safety, security, and building temperature control work for the 105,000 square foot renovation and 67,000 square foot new addition. 

This is a certified LEED project.

 
Town Houses

Merit performed all electrical, life-safety and communications for the Colgate University Townhouse student housing project, a 9-building complex.

Tioga Downs - Nichols, New York

Under subcontract to ADT Security Services, Merit installed over 230 cameras throughout the gaming area and the perimeter of the new building.  Included in this was the installation of security console cabling and terminations.  Also included in this project was the installation of power supplies for the CCTV and access control systems.

Merit performed similar projects at the Batavia, Fingerlakes, Monticello, Saratoga and Vernon Downs racetracks.

Solvay Paperboard - Various additions, upgrades and expansions

Paper Mill- 1  Upgrade - 2006

 Installation and wiring complete for the following:

1. New 2500KVA transformer and 4000Amp 480volt switchgear for the Stock Prep distribution Area.

2. Ten New variable frequency drives and two new Motor Control Centers.

3. New conveyer for raw material procurement.

4. Fiber optic backbone cabling for DCS control system.

5. Network communication cabling between all VFD’s, MCC’s, PLC’s and bench board consoles to new DCS server room.

6. Installation of power, control, and instrumentation cabling to 50 motors on paper machine and pulp process areas.

7. Installation of 45 new VFD’s and two MCC’s in the PM-1 drive room.

8. Upgrades to all bench board consoles including keypads, monitors, and joysticks.

Duration of this project was one year, with a ten day outage using an average of 65 skilled tradesman for each of the two 12 hour shifts worked during the outage.

 All deadlines were met with success.

 

Sensis Corporation - 120,000 square foot aerospace design facility.

Holiday Inn Express - Syracuse New York Airport

Home Depot -  Maintain electrical, fire alarm and building control systems for over 25 stores.  Similar services are provided for other national retailers.
